Opening its first place of business on Wood Avenue in Woonsocket, RI with focus in the petroleum field Advance Electrical quickly becomes known for its knowledge of the industry and for its quality of work.
Prior to joining Advance Electrical Corp Mike was a Journeyman electrician for a commercial contractor based out of Westwood MA. Mike quickly showed himself to be an indispensable asset to the company.
Mike is promoted to the position of Vice President. Utilizing his skill set, he put Advance Electrical in position to grow and continue to succeed in the marketplace. His primary focus was on project set-up and completion, quality control and financial management of the projects.
With more business opportunities emerging, the Woonsocket facility is outgrown. Land was acquired in Mapleville, RI and AEC was able to construct a new facility and move its operations.
Bringing valuable business management skills from his family business as well as Exxon and multiple petroleum general contractors, John quickly proves himself as an asset to AEC. He installed pivotal business systems and streamlined the back office operations. This allowed AEC to grow to the next level.
With Advance Electrical positioned as a key player in the industry John Dell’Oro and Mike Murzycki purchase AEC from William Oram. Advance’s reputation as a premier petroleum electrical contractor and its relationships with the major oil companies provided a great foundation which allowed for diversification into other electrical sectors.
AEC completes wiring of fuel distribution system to fuel Boston Harbor ferries and other commercial/personal vessels. Combining our expertise in fueling/hazardous area wiring with our Marina experience.
AEC completes their first cellular tower installation project in Springfield, MA. This project was one of many to continue AEC’s diversification into electrical services outside of the petroleum industry.
AEC completes first major marina renovation. This project required upgrades to existing electrical service, feeders to bulk head distribution. Installation of cables for power supply to dock and slip shore power pedestals. Another successful project to continue diversification and building AEC’s portfolio.
AEC relocates their operations from Mapleville, RI to Smithfield, RI. With this relocation, AEC was positioned to better serve the customer base throughout New England. This new facility was larger, better located and was flexible for the upcoming growth of the Company.
AEC completes the electrical construction of the Shelter Harbor Golf Club, Charleston, RI. This project consisted of a 40,000 Sq. Ft. Clubhouse, (3) Pump Houses, (2) Cottages and associated electrical distribution between all of these buildings. A massive project for AEC that helped us develop, grow and expand our portfolio. For the past 20 years, we have continued to provide electrical services to Shelter Harbor Golf Club.
AEC’s business is thriving and project managers are added to the team. Recognizing the need for specialized oversight and a continued diversified customer base, initial project managers are strategically promoted from within organization. This not only capitalized on the wealth of experience within the company, but also provided a whole new level of career growth opportunities
AEC completes wiring to a high-volume diesel fuel distribution system to supply ship-fueling barges in Boston Harbor. Combining our expertise in fueling/hazardous area wiring with our Marina experience.
AEC completes the first in a series of Seasons Corner Markets in Cumberland RI, marking a milestone in their longstanding relationship with this valued customer. This project included a convenience store/market, petroleum fueling facility and a carwash.
AEC completes their first solar project for solar developer Econox. These initial projects were typical roof mounted projects. Over the next several years the solar component of our business expands to include ground-mount, carport and tracker projects.
After working at AEC for 23, 18 and 15 years respectively; Dave Conroy, Bob Groleau & Nick Ruotolo become equity Owners of Advance. All (3) began their careers at AEC as electrical apprentices and moved up through the organization. Today they all hold key positions within the organization. Dave is the Service Manager, Bob is the Senior Project Manager and Nick is the Operations Manager.
